@Hanabie @ArchmageAzor
Fallout 76 was intended to be a MMORPG, i guess, due to a MMO hype. But Bethesda has a lot of single player RPG fans because Bethesda published sccessful series like TES and FO. They tried to throw single players into a MMO game, it was a bad idea but i believe that's a lesson learned.
We'll see how Starfield turns out. I'll wait and see what this game looks like and make a decision after watching YouTube videos and reading reviews. Bethesda isn't an automatic buy anymore for me.
@Hanabie
Alright. Do you avoid buying Bethesda games very early because of your experience with FO76? I never played it because its MMO but heard both good and bad comments about it.
Yes. I generally avoid most games on release day and wait for reviews. Some time ago, I stopped preordering, too, ever since No Man's Sky.
@Hanabie
So did i, until starfield. Will be my first preorder because i need to do my own mistakes 😖😅. I have been fine with older Bethesda games i played years after release.
Maybe it's an awesome game and my worries unfounded. More great stuff to play is always good :)
And 76 wasn't all that bad. There were a lot of really great elements in it that, had 76 instead been a single player game (or at the most a co-op game), it'd have been much more well received.
The world was fun, the new monsters are cool, the combat was basically the same as FO4.
I’m expecting the usual Bethesda bugfest for the first month or two, but the game itself seems like it should be pretty entertaining and immersive. My plan is to see what the Steam reviews look like in a month or two.
From the few leaks I've seen, it starts really slow for the first hours in an attempt not to overwhelm the player. I'm guessing the initial reactions once the game is out will be that the game "is boring and linear" 🙄
I have been un-hyping myself ever since that Xbox Showcase. The things Todd said gave me awful Sean Murray/NMS flashbacks
It's not just one world, it's over a thousand worlds
That isn't just a backdrop, that moon is actually there orbiting the planet. Yes you can visit it too
😵💫😵💫😵💫
Obviously you can go in with the expectation that a lot of them won't have anything going on, or that the radiant quest system will add quests to those planets.
The fact that they showed that you can choose specific points of interest to land at on a planet implies you pop in and take care of business and leave. I don't think anyone who actually watched that should expect 1,000 world chock full of unique content. It's just their chosen method of delivering content.
Plus, you can think of it as a mostly blank canvas for mod content
I expect Starfield will be beautiful and have tons to do and see, but I'm greatly tempering my seamless exploration expectations. I'm sure the planet cells will be large and many pretty neat but you aren't going to hop into your ship, point at a moon, and blast off. There will be navigation and loading screens.
If it’s any better than NMS, I’m in. I did like NMS until I beat it. Now there’s nothing else that I want to do.
I think I’m going to love Starfield. I want to make my own ship and bases and fly around a galaxy. I want to sneak into enemy bases and steal their sandwiches. I want to wander, and complete the main story, and all the other stories.
Hell no hyped to the max. Took time off work. I'll take a chance on getting hurt again.
It's not Fallout so I'm not hyped at all. Just curious if it will be good.
Well it’s a Bethesda game and also an Xbox first party game so it’ll be a miracle if it’s functional at launch, let alone good.
But I’m ready to be surprised.
