Hedges is a Christian Socialist, his idea of a Socialist revolution is for a whole lot of martyrs to die lol, very Idealist. I remember he did a panel on Lenin, during a LeftForum panel, with others including Richard Wolff, the majority of Panelist were positive about Lenin and the Russian Revolution, but Hedges was absolutely on Lenin and the Russian Revolution.
Hedges can be a clown, I first came aware of him during the Occupy movement, he wrote a very lib article about "violence/antifa" destroying the occupy movement. The funniest part of the article was that he equated swearing at cops a form of violence lol.

I used to watch The Real News regularly. It was ran by Paul Jay, a Leftist and Anti-Zionist, he even did a whole interview series with Finkelstein about his life and struggles, it's good watch and pretty funny concerning Finkelstein's Maoist period. Criticisms of US-Israel and the Dems was a regular on TheRealNews. They even had a former long time Black Panther Party inmate as a producer when he was released:
