That's a classic.
Vegan
An online space for the vegans of Lemmy.
Rules and miscellaneous:
- We take for granted that if you engage in this community, you understand that veganism is about the animals. You either are vegan for the animals, or you are not (this is not to say that discussions about climate/environment/health are not allowed, of course)
- No omni/carnist apologists. This is not a place where to ask to be hand-holded into veganims. Omnis coddling/backpatting is not tolerated, nor are /r/DebateAVegan-like threads
- Use content warnings and NSFW tags for triggering content
- Circlejerking belongs to /c/vegancirclejerk
- All posts should abide by Lemmy's Code of Conduct
yep, shit like this has turned food from one of my favorite hobbies to something I get anxious about sharing with others.
and my carnist friends love to tell me about how they enjoyed some corpses because they know i'm into food and cooking and i have no idea how to respond. yeah I love food and cooking but i'm not going to compliment you for mutilating and eating a dead animal dude
Man saaaaaaame. I used to look forward to going out to eat with friends. While I'm very glad I made the change, and would do it again, I do kinda mourn the ability to go out without researching the spot ahead of time.
Me sending food mentions to friends: Why do you have to bring up veganism, we always fight.
Them sending me a video where chicken nuggets are the punchline: have a funny video.
Infuriating, it's literally just don't challenge norms. You are different and must tolerate us, you are different and we don't need to tolerate you.
