For now, I'm wondering what the Habs are doing exactly.

The Edmundston deal gives them 3.5M of cap space to play with, which seems to me like they're trying to sign someone, but which FA are they targeting?

I'm happy they were fairly quiet, Edmundson deal was probably more about freeing up the roster spot for one of the kids. If they decide to add I think it'll be a trade for another young player.

Yzerplan is starting to look like a throne of lies.

I'm still not sure why they bought out Yamamoto. Seemed unnecessary.

Still, Tampa was setup for a decade of winning...

They had the cap space unless Yzerman is planning another big signing. They are tight on roster spots potentially, but waiving him to start the season would solve that.

Yeah... As a wings fan, there have been some questionable moves just about every year since he came back.

While his trades are usually great, he loves to over crowd our roster with mediocrity in free agency, and at the draft, they spend too many picks on high character or big size guys, that lack the offensive upside. Though the drafting issues I think is more of Draper's doing, still, that's Yzerman's hire.

My confidence is shook and it leaves me wondering... Is Tampa's scouting director the real architect of their success?

Pens resigned Jarry at a decent price. The 5 years is a killer for me if he continues having these injury issues. It would have been nice to sign him for 2 years.

It is a fair price for Jarry, but I am hoping they find a solid 1B option to pair with him. If your top goaltender is known to be injury prone you have to do something!

Regardless, this all feels so much better than the last management team's bumbling around that I can't get upset.

I know cap space is an issue but I thought Washington might be a bit more active. I'm absolutely stunned Kuzy hasn't been moved and there's still no word on Backstroms future.

Eller signing in Pittsburgh absolutely kills me though. Dude was my favourite Capital. Throw in Hathaway in Philly and Orlov in Carolina and we're one guy signing with the Rangers from me having a really bad day.
