Wikipedia says it's a John Lewis-class ship. Fucking liberals man.

USNS Harvey Milk

USNS Harvey Milk (T-AO-206) is the second of the John Lewis-class of underway replenishment oilers, operated by the Military Sealift Command (MSC) to support ships of the United States Navy.

From the Bluesky thread

spoiler: one of them is Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Haha. Of fucking course.

Edit

It's even worse. Because of course it is. Is the Harriet Tubman next for Gaza?

you think they're ever going to name a warship after John Brown or is attacking a federal armory too much to whitewash over?

[–] JohnBrownNote@hexbear.net 18 points 7 months ago

wish they would, we could hijack it and do something extremely cool.

[–] JustSo@hexbear.net 13 points 7 months ago

We can just take these boats and name them whatever we want.

Blatant rainbow imperialism. I won't be happy about the state of the US until every government building is turned to a gender neutral bathroom, see how they like pinkwashing then.

Waving a rainblow flag while doing war crimes is just IOF operational procedure, they're just fulfilling a jurisdictional mandate.

Liberals stop using the struggles of famous marginalised people as PR for their imperialism challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)

is trying to leave San Francisco for Gaza today

That means it has to go through the Suez (or take a much longer route ofc). Inshallah the Houthis’ aim is true.

[–] EllenKelly@hexbear.net 41 points 7 months ago

Houthis show their true colours and assault a US&A ship named after a famously murdered gay man

What is the Mediterranean. What is the Strait of Gibraltar. What is the Panama Canal.

[–] Orcocracy@hexbear.net 13 points 7 months ago

They’re already sending this boat all the way from the Pacific Ocean. Maybe every boat which is closer (which would be almost all of them) has the long weekend off? You can’t assume that the US military is going to be sensible or efficient about anything to do with this genocide cruise. They might point it towards Suez just so they can do a bit of sabre-rattling with China and Iran and probably everyone else too along the way.

(or take a much longer route ofc)

They killed him.

Then used his likeness to further feel good about their empire.

Saw a video recently of a bunch of people on jet skis and small crafts blocking a ship headed for Israel in port. That would be pretty cool.

https://sfbayview.com/2024/03/palestinian-organizers-protest-navy-vessel-said-to-be-headed-to-israel/ , this is the most recent news I can find about the protest, though it's not said whether or not the ship was able to leave

[–] Zuberi@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 7 months ago

Any footage from the aftermath :)?

The MSM is nuking virtually all media surrounding this.

Did you know we had >700,000 March in DC??

[–] wombat@hexbear.net 10 points 7 months ago

usians are the most propagandized people on earth

[–] morninghymn@hexbear.net 7 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Not mentioned within the photo posted by OP is the fact that the protesters were disrupting a National Vietnam War Veterans Day commemoration, an event for honoring the "bravery" and "sacrifice" of the US soldiers who are responsible for causing an overwhelming amount of pain, suffering and death in Vietnam. It's honestly just so fucking crazy that right before the departure of a US naval ship to go support a genocide, they're celebrating the so called heroes of one of the most disgusting wars perpetrated by the United States in the 20th century.

Shout out the brave troops who fragged their officers while doped out of their minds
