Does anyone have data on the number of Lemmy users currently? I saw Lemmy.world has about 12k now (yay!), but I was wondering if there are any estimates regarding the increase from the Reddit exodus.

About to crest 100k total. And the end of the month will likely bring the biggest wave yet.

Only 168 nodes?! We can do better than that!

Sh.itjust.works is up to 2.7k.

Edit: Also I should thank Ruud, he helped our admin (TheDude) out with a server configuration issue yesterday and the server has been buttery smooth ever since.

Wow, they are only a few days old, aren't they. That's amazing.

Yeah I joined 5 days ago and it had fewer than 100 users. It was started 7 days ago by TheDude. Been a wild ride, really similar to what you guys have experienced here on a slightly smaller scale.

What was the config change?

[–] imaqtpie@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Quote from TheDude

For those that are interested in the configuring changes. I was using the default lemmy configuration for the nginx worker_connections value. This value needed to be raised. Shout out to @ruud@lemmy.world over at lemmy.world for helping me out.

Ah, of course! Thanks for sharing that info. πŸ‘

!remindme … oh… wait… can someone remind me tomorrow please?

I’ll reconfigure mine in the morning.

Update: no one reminded me! 😒

My instance current has.... One.

[–] imaqtpie@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

I'll make an account.

Edit: It won't let me in

[–] joe@lemmy.knocknet.net 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hmm weird. The server is supposed to notify me of a pending join request.

I'll look at it tomorrow.
