I've always despised Stephen Fry. He's not the clever man people think he is.

Big pompous dickhead

[–] CloutAtlas@hexbear.net 10 points 8 months ago

He signed for the British Jews for Justice for Palestinians in 2009

Sliding to the right because the left called him out for predatory behaviour isn't uncommon, however.

He was always at best as a foil for Laurie, who was the true actor of the pair. Fry seemed to just be the Jeeves persona, but he always played it a bit too straight-laced imo.

I'm convinced this is how you prevent your kids from falling into weird phases lol. Get a head start and make it so uncool that they act normal. With that being said, "normal" is lame most of the time.

Very disappointed in gay hotep actor Michael Douglas

Zionist Hotep Gay Actor Michael Douglas

[–] redladadriver@hexbear.net 4 points 8 months ago

The Douglas Family (Danielovitch) were actually Jewish immigrants from Russia iirc, so being a Zionist is not unbelievable.

Ziggy sucks, but he barely knew his dad and basically lives off the Marley name. Awful to have a Rastafarian supporting a Colonial occupation.

Is this really the best Israel can do? I only recognize Jamie-Lee Curtis

This is actually so close to the truth, he played "Get Up, Stand Up" in Tel Aviv in 2018

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 8 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Israel has earned the coveted washed-out actors’ coalition endorsement

[–] CloutAtlas@hexbear.net 7 points 8 months ago

I quite liked Curtis in Everything Everywhere All At Once. hesitation-1

[–] Spongebobsquarejuche@hexbear.net 8 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Maybe he didn't understand that his fathers references to Zion were actually about Ethiopia.

[–] CloutAtlas@hexbear.net 9 points 8 months ago

Bob: writes a song titled Zimbabwe in solidarity with the peoples being oppressed by the state of Rhodesia

Ziggy: performs "Get Up, Stand Up" in Tel Aviv to a crowd of not just Israelis, but the most bourgeoisie Israelis

[–] Tunnelvision@hexbear.net 8 points 8 months ago (2 children)

When it comes to people like Ziggy I just assume it’s a reflexive anti war stance and not so much an outright endorsement of Zionism. Unless this Israel lobby letter is something crazy idk

Yeah not even like an Israeli charity or peace fund. The actual IDF

regret to inform you:

Ziggy Marley feels very close to Israel. He's married to Orly, an Israeli woman, and they have three children: A girl named Judah Victoria, a boy called Gideon, and a baby - Abraham Selassie.

Marley admits that, having no other choice, he celebrates all the Jewish holidays and is very jealous of our culture.

"The history of our connection to the roots of Israel, to David, Solomon, goes way before I met my wife," Marley says. "My father, my Rastafari culture, has a tight link to the Jewish culture. We have a strong connection from when I was a young boy and read the Bible, the Old Testament.

Bob Marley had like 11 kids right? Of course there's going to be a black sheep of the family.

At least his other siblings are cool
