After 26 years of undiagnosed Aspergers and then two years of diagnosed Aspergers, I am finally dating someone for the first time at the age of 28, and it's going really well. I sincerely believed before a couple of months ago that I was going to die alone. I worked really hard, spent a bunch of money on therapy and dating coaches, and it's finally starting to pay off. We're still early into the relationship and haven't really done anything intimate yet, but we both like each other a whole lot and I think we both want the relationship to progress.

Was at a customer location yesterday because the previous tech couldn't get the new backup internet service working.

Walked in, moved a cable from port 0/1 to 1 and bam, backup internet working with no problems.

Fuck you Cisco, I wish you would be consistent with your port numbers.

My oldest daughter. We have a new infant, and she has been so patient and helpful instead of jealous. She loves her new little sister and is so eager to show her things. I know this may not last, but I'm very proud of her right now.

A robot that my son really wanted for Christmas was broken when taking it out of the box Christmas day (motor on foot did not work so it could only walk in circles ). This is actually the second one of the same robot I got him since the first one broke from him playing to rough with it and he has been asking for a new one ever since. I couldn't return because I lost the receipt, so I took it apart found the loose wire resoldered it put a shrink tube around it and now it works just like new . He is so excited !!

I just managed to set up a C++ project with CMake for the first time. I have several years of experience with Java, Python and a bit of Rust... For the last 2 weeks I started to learn a bit of C++. The language itself is not really the problem so far, but the ecosystem around it is quite frustrating to me.

I'm finally feeling like a person again after four years of anxiety.

Congrats! I'm right with you brother/sister. After covid and everything I was a nervous wreck. I worked on myself and reflected, therapy, and I'm feeling better. I know the journey you have taken/are on and I'm proud of you :)

My son just got his official middle school advice from his teacher (it’s binding over here) and it’s really good!
He made such big improvements this final year and I’m so proud of him. Especially for all the hard work and effort he put in on his own initiative.

I did a live performance of original techno music last weekend and I’m still proud of myself and how well it went!

If you’re curious, here’s a 30 minute recording: http://mixcloud.com/mralexweber/alex-weber-techno-hardware-live-pa-ana-kuni-fest-27-jan-2024/

Taught myself c# and VR development and have been busy Imagineering an award winning virtual theme park. It has been a crazy amount of work for one person, but it is really starting to come together. https://www.meta.com/experiences/4212005182188732/
