Of all the comics I've read today, this is one of them.

[–] RogueBanana@lemmy.zip 11 points 11 months ago

I had a hard time understanding what i just read and that pretty much sums it up

[–] SkyNTP@lemmy.ml 81 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (2 children)

Can't tell who this is making fun of. I guess the answer is: everyone.

[–] GuerillaGorillas@lemmy.world 49 points 11 months ago (1 children)

These comics are usually more just absurdism than anything else, and I love it.

[–] SgtAStrawberry@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

I'm happy for you, personally I'm not really a fan of absurdism and similar humour.

[–] doctorcrimson@lemmy.today 22 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Definitely everyone. Art is good, reveals are good, the joke density is good with back to back quips and reveals, but for some reason it kind of left me lacking any sense of resolution. Maybe I've become jaded from people "ironically" posting conservative hate comics that I now view each new comic I see with a sense of apprehensive doubt.

[–] x4740N@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

Felt to stuffed with jokes for me

[–] jivandabeast@lemmy.browntown.dev 46 points 11 months ago (2 children)

FUCK YES

The good comics from Reddit are finally making it over, haven't seen a "The Other End" in MONTHS lmfao

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 13 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I haven't seen one of these ever before.

[–] jivandabeast@lemmy.browntown.dev 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

They're really fucking funny, like an oddly dark and chaotic sense of humor

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

I'm reading back through them now, they're fantastic

[–] caseyweederman@lemmy.ca 5 points 11 months ago (4 children)

I haven't seen a Pizzacake in a while

[–] urist@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Did… did anyone actually like pizzacake? I thought it was an ironic meme you guys were doing.

[–] RecitalMatchbox@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago (2 children)
[–] urist@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 11 months ago

Nothing wrong with that, she seems like a nice person!

[–] x4740N@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago
[–] 5too@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

I also like Pizza cake!

[–] Ilovethebomb@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

They did say the good comics.

[–] sag@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

I didn't uploaded it because so many people hate or don't like Pizzacake Comic.

[–] x4740N@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

Pizzacake is actually a good comic

This comic however I didn't like

[–] fsxylo@sh.itjust.works 35 points 11 months ago

Well that was a ride.

[–] jol@discuss.tchncs.de 31 points 11 months ago

I thought this was gonna be some parabole about veganism but I'm honestly not sure.

[–] GeneralEmergency@lemmy.world 29 points 11 months ago (1 children)
[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago (3 children)

Do they speak English in What?

[–] don@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

This should have been like 4 panels and ended at the turkey reveal. But it just. Keeps. Going

[–] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

And I'm not kidding when I say I literally read half of this comic then got distracted and went to do 10 other things in my phone and an hour later I came back and realized I hadn't finished reading this comic yet. Continued reading and the plot kept changing.

[–] exocortex@discuss.tchncs.de 19 points 11 months ago

oof that was a let-down

[–] mriormro@lemmy.world 18 points 11 months ago

This comic is like a five year old much too excited to tell a story.

[–] NovaPrime@lemmy.ml 16 points 11 months ago

Fucking dark. Love it

[–] GoosLife@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I really like this. I see a lot of negative comments here, so I'm just putting it out there for the balance.

The pacing felt very comfortable to me, it was paced in a way that made me feel relaxed-entertained rather than the hyperactive-entertained that so many formats are going for today

Thanksgiving food is surprisingly mediocre. Seems like it was designed by the British.

[–] minorcoma@lemmy.world 42 points 11 months ago (2 children)

I'm sorry you haven't experienced good Thanksgiving food.

[–] SVcross@lemmy.world 15 points 11 months ago (1 children)
[–] ripcord@kbin.social 3 points 11 months ago

However, there is a lot of super good thanksgiving food

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

I feel like the whole point of it is to not vary

[–] the_artic_one@programming.dev 21 points 11 months ago (2 children)

It's mediocre because most people never try to cook any of it outside of Thanksgiving and don't experiment with the recipes because they're trying to cook a bunch of dishes and don't want to mess them up.

Turkey is good when it's not overcooked and underseasoned. Mashed potatoes are good when they're not gummy from not having the extra starch rinsed off or chunky from being undercooked. Stuffing is good when it's not shoved into a turkey cavity or soggy from sitting in drippings and has ingredients in it besides bread.

[–] ChihuahuaOfDoom@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I agree with everything you said but the stuffing, I prefer mine prepared in the bird but I make another batch cooked on its own for those who don't like it.

[–] Tikiporch@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

Cooking the stuffing in the bird is risky. You may already know that, since it sounds kind you have been doing it that way a long time. However, many don't understand the risks, chief among them is overcooking the turkey.

And bacteria too I guess... https://www.fsis.usda.gov/food-safety/safe-food-handling-and-preparation/poultry/stuffing-and-food-safety

Try going to New Orleans next year for TG. They know how to do it right.

*sigh* So much time and effort spent.

[–] constableunstable@lemm.ee 6 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I love TheOtherEnd. They take the humor way past the logical conclusion and subverts my expectations every time.

[–] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

yeah, way beyond logical. like it's literally Thanksgiving Day and they are already gathered and they're still debating on whether or not they're going to participate in the gathering 🤦‍♀️

[–] dylanTheDeveloper@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Is this loss?

[–] x4740N@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

You get any more of them pixels

Also I don't get what this comic is trying to say at all

It's just a mish mash of text and images to me and I didn't get any message or meaning from it at all

If someone wants to explain it you're welcome too but I literally don't get what the point of this comic strip is

[–] ButtCheekOnAStick@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago

The new girlfriend Stephanie is a Turkey. Her dad Jim is getting served for dinner that year, so it's super awkward. It's quite a bizarre comic and not very funny.

[–] clearleaf@sh.itjust.works 1 points 11 months ago

This really explains the Maghreb insurgency.

[–] fosforus@sopuli.xyz 1 points 11 months ago

This is the best comic I've seen this year.
