“All this antisemitism is very frightening,” she continued. “I know the baristas here and it’s just very upsetting that all these young people are – I don’t know what they are, ignorant? Hateful? Brainwashed? It’s very scary this is what’s happening in this country, but I hope somebody knows how to fix it because it’s really scary.”

Quitting your job is now antisemitism.

Caffe Aronne owner Aaron Dahan said he was left short-staffed at his Upper East Side location after he tried to talk to two of the baristas about their Free Palestine pins.

But instead of hearing him out and understanding him, they walked off the job — becoming the latest staffers to leave over the cafe’s pro-Israel support.

Top-tier journalism, right there.

Zionist coffee shop owner tells staff "You aren't allowed to express your political beliefs while on shift, only I get to do that. You don't like it? You can walk."

*staff walk*

*shocked pikachu face*

"Why weren't they interested in hearing me out and understanding me? I'm the victim here!"

25 and an "owner" of a coffee shop in NYC? How the hell does this happen? I smell nepo brat.

Based Barista based-department

Let the genocidal fanatics "volunteer" and try to get any future employees to sign a loyalty pledge to a genocidal aparthied state as a condition for employment. See how long / far that goes.

[–] combat_brandonism@hexbear.net 50 points 1 year ago

25 and whining about how young his staff is thonk

25 and an "owner" of a coffee shop in NYC

three locations and FailsonTM gets to be the Big Man at one of them lol

[–] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 75 points 1 year ago (2 children)

They think we’re supporting genocide, we’re supporting colonialism. They know the keywords but they don’t really know what they mean.

A shame that you didn't take this opportunity to describe what genocide and colonialism are. It would have provided important context for me, a young person who apparently doesn't know what it means.

[–] Frank@hexbear.net 52 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I love this bullshit. The youth never know what's happening. It's all too complex for them. They'll understand that they were wrong when they are older. It's very nuanced. blah blah blah blah. It's utter bullshit.

[–] the_itsb@hexbear.net 46 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

I'm 41, still patiently waiting to finally ✨Grow Up✨ and ✨Understand✨

edit: also, I am a parent of a teen - really thought that I'd finally understand by now all the ~~stuff~~ bullshit I was told I would believe as an adult, back when I was a teenager with these same moral qualms about society. Maybe I'm just a slow learner?

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 32 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The older I get the more leftist I get.

[–] Frank@hexbear.net 43 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Me at 25 "Pacifism is the only legitimate form of activism"

Me now "Stalin was soft."

[–] stigsbandit34z@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago

Even fucking capitalists don’t see that as they keep hoarding the wealth, they’ll just keep creating more left-curious people (probably the only way to build collation). But they’re probably relying heavily on the fact that the average American can’t even read at a 5th grade level or the fact that poor people have a lower life expectancy

Fuck if I know honestly it’s hell at the end of the day

[–] zed_proclaimer@hexbear.net 24 points 1 year ago (1 children)

37 here, and been working trades my whole life. Never had more than a week off of work since I was 17. Still a commie. When is this elderly boomer wisdom going to bless me?

[–] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago

When is this elderly boomer wisdom going to bless me?

Wealth; its corrupting influence is what usually does the trick. That and having a circle of friendly chuds.

It's this condescending, paternalistic attitude that I think is losing the progressives the younger demographic in regards to votes.

The conservatives treat young voters as cool and powerful and important and savvy.

The progressives treat young voters as idealistic and misguided and impetuous and as supplicants. (Feinstein, may she rot in piss, displays this attitude perfectly here when talking to young people about climate change.)

Yet, for some unknown reason, progressives can't seem to understand how you have these model apostate ex-progressive young people who talk about how "the left" is all groupthink and enforced conformity and how you'll get cast out for saying the wrong thing so that's why they switched to being a conservative.

Gee, I wonder why young adults are abandoning your movement when you treat them like naughty children who need to be disciplined whenever they overstep their "boundaries" or they express the wrong opinion instead of treating them as equals and as fully-fledged adults with all the respect that entails?

Let's talk about it laterrrr

[–] barrbaric@hexbear.net 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This just isn't true? Young people overwhelmingly support the dems.

The "model apostate ex-progressive young people" are all just grifters like Candace Owens. Also I don't know anyone who'd call the dem establishment "progressive". That label really only applies to Bernie, "the squad", and a handful of others like Fetterman.

[–] stigsbandit34z@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Imma be honest that’s almost as depressing as young people supporting republicans.

[–] barrbaric@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

To be fair I should have said "young people who vote", because turnout was still only 55% in 2020 and sub-30% in the 2022 midterms.

[–] mar_k@hexbear.net 9 points 1 year ago

Do you think conservatives are winning over young adults? Because they definitely aren't, zoomers aren't becoming more right-wing by any means. A lot of young people are obviously becoming disillusioned with the liberal status quo and abandoning Dems, but the majority of those become leftist types.

[–] keepcarrot@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago

Did you accidentally switch around conservative and progressive consistently in this post? It looks like a mega brain fart

[–] mar_k@hexbear.net 15 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

"You'll become more conservative as you get older" is the biggest bullshit. The large majority of gen x and boomers are lifelong conservatives if you applied today's standards. You were progressive in the 80's if you thought gay people dying of AIDs was maybe sort of a bad thing. Most people's core values either stay consistent or evolve more progressive over time

Even if you look at voteing patterns, major differences between party preference and age didn't really become a rule until more recently; 18-24 year old boomers reelected Reagan harder than most generations (at over 60%), and 18-24 year younger gen xers in 2000 were 50/50 split in a 50/50 split election

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 19 points 1 year ago

They think we’re supporting genocide, we’re supporting colonialism. They know the keywords but they don’t really know what they mean.

They're not the Adults In The Room that Make The Hard Decisions and Get Shit Done, therefore they must be ignorant of the cold hard morally grey logical factual reality as seen in the Prestige TV treats. morshupls

[–] Dolores@hexbear.net 72 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Quitting your job is now antisemitism

quitting your job after your boss told you you couldn't wear a palestine pin

[–] comrade_pibb@hexbear.net 64 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This "anti-zionism is anti-semitic" is getting really exhausting to witness

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 47 points 1 year ago

That's why they keep doing it

It's the same reason why libs get so mad when you call them racist

They've internalized that they are good and good people aren't racist, so calling someone racist is tantamount to calling them bad and they're not bad

To bandy about claims of antisemitism while ignoring blatant examples of it proves they don't understand what they're saying

[–] Cummunism@hexbear.net 49 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

fucking christ this shit is old, it's just like all the republican manufactured persecution.

  1. create nation for a religion
  2. ????
  3. now anyone who opposes that country is an anti-whatever

are Israelis islamophobes for hating muslims? oh of course not, calling them islamophobes is probaby anti-semitism in their smoothbrains. religion is stupid as fuck.

[–] kot@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago

Israel was founded as a secular colonial project, most religious Jews at the time thought that taking back their ancestral land by force was basically sacrilege, and many who didn't move there still think this way. Herzl basically imagined Israel as this secular "beacon" of enlightened European values among the "savage" and superstitious Arabs. Zionists sometimes will use the Hebrew Bible to justify their genocide, but they don't actually give a shit about religion, you don't have to follow Judaism to move there, only be ethnically Jewish (and European, they don't like non white Jews either), they mostly say shit like that because evangelicals keep falling for it.

[–] wahwahwah@hexbear.net 44 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lol the quality of service is about to take a nosedive if a bunch of elderly Upper East Side Karens are really taking over. Would love to be a fly on the wall just to witness the boomer-on-boomer brawls.

[–] mar_k@hexbear.net 9 points 1 year ago

Quality of coffee too. Everyone knows the blandest looking crackers make the worst baristas, and the women/enbies with colorful hair, nose rings, and a dozens pins on their apron make the best.

[–] Melonius@hexbear.net 41 points 1 year ago (1 children)

don’t know what they are, ignorant? Hateful? Brainwashed? It’s very scary this is what’s happening in this country, but I hope somebody knows how to fix it because it’s really scary.”

I had to double check this wasn't a @happybadger@hexbear.net post, it's almost the same.

“He called me up. He said, ‘Mom, I’m doing a private event. I need to close the shop. I said, ‘Aaron, I’m not letting anybody close your shop,'” Peggy told The Post.

Mommy can make coffee for her big boy Aaron. 25 year old coffee shop owning nepo failson with Israel flags ticks all the boxes

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 19 points 1 year ago

It's hard to parody zionists because they always find a way to be more pathetic the next day.

https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/cafe-aronne-israel-flag-pro-palestinian-employees/

"It's nice. It's really reassuring because for a lot of Jews right now, New York feels like a very dangerous, very, very dangerous place. This shows there's support. There's love still in the world," Dahan said.

With the amount of verys you'd think NYC is Gaza.

"We're just gonna all get together. We're not burning any flag. We're not gonna curse people. We're not gonna scream for people's deaths. That's not who we are as Jewish people. We're here for peace," Dahan said.

Fucking gross. Literally "our ethnicity is more civilized than others."

[–] Mindfury@hexbear.net 27 points 1 year ago

[–] usa_suxxx@hexbear.net 21 points 1 year ago (1 children)

“Our staff was young. They think they know everything, liberal, college-educated,” Dahan, who is Jewish, told The Post on Tuesday.

“They think we’re supporting genocide, we’re supporting colonialism. They know the keywords but they don’t really know what they mean.”

The 25-year-old owner said a total of five baristas have left since Oct. 7, the day Hamas attacked Israel.

25 year old owner complaining about people their age 😂😂😂😂

[–] usa_suxxx@hexbear.net 11 points 1 year ago

I'm so tired of hearing about antisemitism in relation to Palestine.

[–] YearOfTheCommieDesktop@hexbear.net 19 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

I am once again asking you to post the original link

Love archive sites but now they all just infinitely redirect to "One more step" and no matter how many times I do the captcha it just refreshes to another captcha

[–] AssortedBiscuits@hexbear.net 11 points 1 year ago (2 children)

If you're using Firefox, you have to add the archive sites as exceptions: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/dns-over-https#w_add-sites-to-the-exceptions-list

I had to add archive.is, archive.li, and archive.ph.

Yes! Brainwashed in the original sense of the word

[–] kristina@hexbear.net 15 points 1 year ago

Yes. They are the ones brainwashed 🤔

This is awful but it’s also so absurd. Just imagine being someone with actual power and reading this headline lol
