How about using matrix as a bridge, and then a proper matrix client for emacs?

Any API like alternatives that use eMacs own framework?
Most emacs web browsers are more on a lynx/links level.. They're good enough to browse documentation or download the odd elisp package from github, but you'll need something more feature-rich for running modern webapps..
Or some kind of middleware(like bitlbee or matrix) that you can use in combination with one of the supported emacs frontends like erc or ement...
Whatsapp/messenger are closed source, there is no API to access them other than the official applications or web access.
