Seems like a fine question to me. We found him in a little pile of hand towels in a middle turning lane of a 4 lane road in my city. We assumed someone slowed down a bit and dropped him out of a moving car.

That's a very strange way to get rid of a cat. I'm glad you found him.

RAGE. In the middle of a busy road. So they wanted the poor baby dead but were too fucking cowardly to do it themselves. I hate people. Have your pets spayed or neutered, folks.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic that you saved him. I just hate irresponsible pet owners and people who are that callous towards the life of an innocent creature.

Dumb question: but how does someone know if a cat was abandoned or if they never had a human companion?

Sorry, friend. Getting used to Lemmy so I responded in a whole other comment.

Usually, when a cat hasn't met humans before they stay away from them. That doesn't always go, as some shy away from humans they don't know or when they have been abused.

When a cat approaches a human or at least doesn't shy away that's a good sign they at least had contact before.

Makes sense to me. He hissed and swatted plenty at first but it didn't take too long to warm up to us.
