I just wanna be able to hold down on an image, copy it, and paste it to my buddies for the lulz. But no, I get a link when I copy it. No one goes to links. And I’m not sharing memes and telling people where they can find more because of it.

I use Avelon for Lemmy, it lets me hold on images to copy or download them to share with my friends…

That only depends on the client you are using, on jerboa on Android you can share images just like you described

I’m not installing someone else’s software on my phone. It’s a fundamental problem that lemmy doesn’t “just work” on the web.

I used Voyager, and it lets you do this. So does Boost, and I'm sure a bunch of others. Since they're using the web interface, it's could even be OP's choice of mobile browser that's the problem.
