It's great that Halo Wars doesn't feature the Chief. Halo shouldn't the The Master Chief Franchise. It's so much bigger.

I still want a horror game take on a marine surviving a flood infection on a ship. It could be dead space with still some element of halo that I think could really be a slam dunk. Theres a halo short story called Mona Lisa which is basically this premise.

Ooh, was that part of one of the short story collections, or was it a part of the mainline novels?

Halo Reach was an awesome game, and so was Halo 3: ODST.

Halo Reach was my favorite.
Then 4 came in, ignored everything we'd gained in the story (splinter sect to re-bad the Sangheli), and a new gun category that in fact flattened the UNSC and Covenant guns into direct analogs of each other, so we ended up with 0.75 categories of weaponry instead of the promised 3.0. Pistol, blue pistol, red pistol. Sniper, blue Sn6iper, red sniper, etc. Felt like they'd learned the wrong lesson from the Halo Online pay-to-win debacle in Russia (dozens of clones of each gun with very minor differences in color, rounds per reload, and fire rate).

...the exception being the grenade launcher that fires rockets that explode into rockets. That was dope.

I wonder if the ElDewrito version of Halo Online is still up and running? The website looks well-maintained.

In the years since its release, and developer Ensemble Games’ closure

Because Microsoft is run by morons.

Also Sony shut Zipper Interactive around this time. Just idiotic companies shutting down some of the best game studios we had.

If only they did the same for the tv show

They could have adapted any of the books. The Rion Forge series would have been perfect.

But instead, we got a boilerplate plot from some reworked non-Halo script that subverted all the subversions Halo is know for doing to scifi tropes.
