The issue for me is this line, which still gets it wrong, because it should either replace the word "legislatures" with "professionals in the field" or say it should be done in consultation with.

the majority wrote that decisions on emerging policy issues like transgender care are generally better left to legislatures rather than judges.

Legislatures and legislators shouldn't be allowed to decide so much as what clothes they wear that day or what they eat for breakfast. That old saw about "those who can't, teach" needs to be changed to "those who can't, legislate."
