Oh man. It's flipper, it's a dolphin, because it's a reference to Jones, the smack-addicted cyborg anti-submarine warfare dolphin in Johnny Mnemonic.
Do other people not use the word flipper for the TV remote control? Like, flip the channel?
In the upper Midwest a lot of people use the term "clicker" instead. Similar enough idea
