So she was robbing him and he shot her? Why would anyone take issue with that?
A lot of people argue that lethal force should be used in a matter of life or death only.
Once they are running away with their backs turned, it's arguable that there is no immediate threat to life and that lethal force is no longer required.
I know that at times like these it's very easy to let the heart rule the mind and to view justice as equal to revenge.
As a non-american, it boggles me that people use lethal force so lightly. Not even in situations where you are in danger yourself it is automatically warranted to use lethal force, only the force that is appropriate to deflect the danger is allowed, in general. Now of course there is some wiggle room here, and of course there is also the heat of the moment, but for example when someone is hitting you with a fist and you just blow his brains out, you are committing a crime too.
