A Nanaimo-based seasonal community co-ordinator for WildSafeBC is anticipated to start mid-June, marking the second summer in a row a community co-ordinator will be stationed in the community.

Tetsuumi Nagata of Nanaimo was selected to be one of 34 members from leading orchestras in the U.K. and Canada to perform in the Coronation Orchestra for the crowning of King Charles III and Queen Camilla on May 6, 2023, at Westminster Abbey.

For his part in the coronation, Nagata received a King Charles III Coronation Medal this spring.

The hub will include standardized permit submission requirements, ensure the permit complies with the BC Building Code and informs the user when the application process is complete, according to the province.

In 2021, B.C. became the first province in Canada to create a comprehensive hydrogen strategy. More than 50 per cent of Canada’s hydrogen and fuel-cell companies are in B.C., and the province accounts for approximately 60 per cent of research investment in hydrogen and fuel-cell development, the release noted. There are approximately 50 proposed projects in the hydrogen sector in B.C., ranging range from large-scale production facilities to hydrogen fuelling stations and heavy-duty trucking pilots.
