Advertising spend has dried up and the shareholders are looking for growth. I don't mind paying for YouTube Premium but I get it much cheaper than that because I connect via VPN when I pay for it. I use Romania but other people recommend Turkey or Argentina or any of the other countries that are having issues with their currencies.

Premium is a great service for $4 a month and it's just handy to be able to use the real YouTube app when you need to. I personally use SmartTube on my Android TV and I absolutely love it.

I also use NewPipe x SponsorBlock on my phone if I want to listen to podcasts without any ad reads and it's occasionally handy if I want to listen to music on YouTube and not keep my screen on although I use Spotify for music most of the time.

PlexAmp is great for my MP3 collection which is all on a Plex server in the cloud along with all my movies and TV shows. UI is a little quirky but it has all sorts of cool features like AI powered suggestions that use GPT4 tech and lots of other cool stuff

Absolute farce of a price

$115 for the Lifetime subscription? You must be fucking joking, I paid $35 last year for the Lifetime subscription to Reddit. The guy has changed probably ~10% of the code base to use a different site's API, this is just greed. Tis off to Mobilism I go for the cracked version so, cheers

I got Ultra Lifetime when it launched 13 months ago, $35 as I recall. People who didn't go the "supportive" route paid $19 for that year. This rubs me up the wrong way even though I don't care about the money, it's not actual adversity or anything. Just doesn't sit well. Also paid the previous prices when the app launched many years ago

I'm confident that Claude.ai could do that in less than 5 minutes, given the transcripts

It's a symptom of the end of cheap money. It's fine to not turn a profit when the economy is bullish and there's money sloshing around everywhere, but at some stage you have to justify your existence, especially when advertisers stop buying ads, which has been the case for a while

Sync is a remarkably well made app, I was delighted to see that announcement
