This hurts to read

[-] Tywele@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago

I'm not even a parent and I don't want this. It's just an unnecessary mechanic to punish casual players for no reason at all. It doesn't add anything to the game.

What is the best practice currently?

[-] Tywele@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 day ago

Yes, I don't like mechanics that happen while the game is turned off. It's unnecessary. I keep reading from players who are defending this mechanic that it's so easy to get several days or almost a month of water supply in just a few hours of gameplay. But if it's so easy to get the water why not just remove the mechanic? They wouldn't even notice and everyone else wouldn't have to play with this FOMO mechanic.

I mean without a keyboard attached.

[-] Tywele@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 days ago

This looks so cool and I love that it is PvE but this water level mechanic kills the whole game for me. I don't want to play a game that makes me lose my progression when I'm not actively playing it. If they change this I will consider buying it but the developers seem to be pretty hellbent on keeping this mechanic unfortunately. Maybe they will change their tune in a few weeks when they notice that they can't keep players around.

Where do you live that you HAVE to learn manual? Here in Germany you have a choice of either learning manual or automatic. If you learn automatic though you are only allowed to drive automatic cars and if you learn manual you are allowed to drive both.

Another question came to mind: How is the food in the clinic? Are they able to provide vegan food?

How long was it an Epic exclusive?

Let's hope it won't be a chromium browser.

I wonder if Mozilla could've been Proton

I wonder if Proton will someday in the future add a browser to the tools they offer.

Solution: I just had to create the file

I wanted to install Pi-Hole on my server and noticed that port 53 is already in use by something.

Apparently it is in use by systemd-resolved:

~$ sudo lsof -i -P -n | grep LISTEN
[...]
systemd-r 799 systemd-resolve 18u IPv4 7018 0t0 TCP 127.0.0.53:53 (LISTEN)
systemd-r 799 systemd-resolve 20u IPv4 7020 0t0 TCP 127.0.0.54:53 (LISTEN)
[...]

And the solution should be to edit /etc/systemd/resolved.conf by changing #DNSStubListener=yes to DNSStubListener=no according to this post I found. But the /etc/systemd/resolved.conf doesn't exist on my server.

I've tried sudo dnf install /etc/systemd/resolved.conf which did nothing other than telling me that systemd-resolved is already installed of course. Rebooting also didn't work. I don't know what else I could try.

I'm running Fedora Server.

Is there another way to stop systemd-resolved from listening on port 53? If not how do I fix my missing .conf file?

I don't see how I can do that. There is no way to access the sidebar that's visible on desktop when I'm on mobile.

I'm a beginner in networking things but due to my ISP I can only open a certain range of ports in my router to be accessible from the outside of my network (something like ports 11000-11500).

That means I can't open port 443 to access my reverse proxy from the outside. Is it possible to redirect all traffic that's coming from one of the ports in the range to port 443 of my server?

I haven't found that possibility in my router (Fritzbox 7530) so is there a way to do this on my server (running Fedora Server)?

I've tried every tutorial I could find. From symlinking the desired terminal to gnome-terminal, or using the update-alternatives command to using the gsettings command to set the default terminal. Nothing works.

What is the definitive way to set the default terminal for this GUI action? And why is this so hard to do?!

I'm on Fedora if it's relevant.

Androcur 10mg (which contains cyproteronacetate) is being discontinued by Bayer because it isn't economical for them to produce anymore. I hate it. It's the anti androgen that's pretty much the standard for feminizing hormone therapy here in Germany and I believe even in Europe.

Edit: here is the email in German that they sent me after I asked them through their contact form:

Do you keep them, destroy/delete them, lock them away? What are you doing with your photos of your old self?

Personally I'm a bit torn. On one hand I want to keep them because they are still memories, on the other hand I never want to see them again. So I will probably lock them away/archive them somewhere.

But what about you?

Separate vote score design (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 2 months ago by Tywele@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/mlemapp@lemmy.ml

Could the design and/or placement of the separate up- and downvote score be improved?

It would be nice to have them where the main score is shown on posts and comments instead of in comment/post info which is very small and not where you look at first.

When I saw the setting I was happy it exists but pretty disappointed that it doesn’t change the main score display of posts and comments.

Or am I just overlooking that setting?

Is there a PDF viewer/reader that supports JavaScript like Adobe Reader?

For example for D&D I use the MorePurpleMoreBetter character sheet that uses tons of JavaScript to automate many things.

Right now I'm using the Adobe Reader snap package that runs it via Wine.
