We need a GDPR equivalent, but US politicians aren’t interested in protecting individuals

In a pub yes. But in cans both 500ml and 440ml are common sizes and have been for a long time. Pint sized cans are sometimes available but are much less common and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen them in a big multipack

Still, 2024 and they’re storing plaintext passwords?

I’d like to experiment with MDM for mine and my child’s iPhones, and possibly my child’s MacBook.

I self host tons of mainly docker based services and have a domain, with everything behind traefik already.

Does anyone know a good MDM solution/tutorial to do this? I started to try one free recommended one but it was unfortunately a windows service, and then the apple side setup seemed very complicated and I could really use a tutorial.

And if anyone has done it, what are the main benefits over the regular parental controls?

Can’t comment on the pricing, but I’ve found Yorkshire tea pretty cheap on Amazon and it’s very strong

Boxing sources (lemmy.world)

Does anyone know a good source for boxing fights? I am struggling to find the Jake Paul vs August fight from last night, and it’s not the first time I’ve struggled with boxing.

They’re a terrorist organisation and use terrorist methods. They don’t even care if Palestinians get killed. Can’t believe you’re equating them with Nelson Mandela 😂

I agree with you, but not sure how you can generalise the “liberal” position on that. I consider myself liberal and agree with everything you said

Some vpns support usually a single port forward but it can be restricted to certain servers and potentially tricky to set up. Others can answer better on individual providers.

But just to correct a common misconception, port forwarding has nothing to do with seeding vs leeching. Port forwarding is so that you are connectable (others can connect to you). Two peers that are not connectable cannot connect to each other, but as long as one is connectable then a connection can be made and data can be uploaded/downloaded between the two.

So not being connectable will reduce the number of peers you can connect to, which will only really be an issue on torrents with few peers

My TP link switch can detect faults and cable length. I’m not sure it can do both together but it’s possible. Worth checking if you have a switch with those features

PTP down for days (lemmy.world)

Ahoy me hearties. Does anyone know if PTP has moved to another address, or is it just down? Their cloudflare has been timing out for days/weeks now.

I recent got a new chromecast 4K. I’ve installed the plex app and tried playing a movie I have that is 1080p, 12.2Mbs, and it is was horribly pixelated, like it was too low bitrate. It was set to direct play.

I tried the same movie on my Sony android tv and it was crystal clear.

It’s not buffering at all and is direct playing, so it’s not a bandwidth issue. Any idea what the issue could be or how I can debug this?

The movie was sin city and has a lot of black and white so the pixelation is very noticeable
