Summary

Andrew and Tristan Tate have left Romania for the US after officials lifted their travel ban.

The brothers, arrested in 2022, face charges of rape, human trafficking, and money laundering but were granted temporary permission to travel.

Romania’s government denies US interference, though reports suggest Trump’s envoy discussed their case. The Tates, also wanted in the UK for past allegations, must return for a March court hearing.

Prosecutors accuse them of exploiting women through the “loverboy” method and profiting millions from forced pornography. Both deny all charges.

National IQ in the US is about to drop a couple of points.

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 61 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

These creeps are going to be appointed to the cabinet aren't they?

It's all to make people be angry, rage and riot so trump can justify calling either rrhe military, or his Nazi goons to attack citizens as a display of his power.

[–] earphone843@sh.itjust.works 1 points 24 minutes ago

Yeah, I know. They're looking for an excuse to impose martial law.

It'd be a real shame if the Uber they pick up at the airport spun out and hit a bridge embankment before bursting into flames with the driver miraculously escaping unharmed.

Idaho gonna hate Trump now for being a tater immigrater.

[–] kn0wmad1c@programming.dev 56 points 5 hours ago (4 children)

I thought Trump was supposed to be deporting criminal immigrants.

Rape isn’t a big deal according to trump supporters

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 15 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

But the tates love minors, and committing sexual crimes, so it's something trump loves and wants more of.

[–] ploot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 43 minutes ago

And they hate women with a vengeance, which will make them extra popular.

[–] ThePantser@lemmy.world 30 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Make sure you read the trump thesaurus,

criminal: brown, black, non-english-speaking

[–] embed_me@programming.dev 18 points 4 hours ago

Don't forget poor

[–] lepinkainen@lemmy.world 4 points 3 hours ago

Import, deport. What’s the difference?

[–] qprimed@lemmy.ml 64 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

The brothers are outspoken supporters of Donald Trump, and several members of the US president’s inner circle have spoken out publicly against their treatment, including Donald Trump Jr who described their detention as “absolute insanity”.

Elon Musk responded to a suggestion from Tate that he would “run for prime minister of the UK” by saying “he’s not wrong”, while one of Tate’s lawyers, Paul Ingrassia, is the White House liaison official for the US Department of Justice.

According to Ingrassia, the Tate brothers were “sacrificed on the altar of the Matrix under the banner of egregious crimes they never committed”. The US vice-president, JD Vance, has appeared on a pro-Tate podcast.

what the hell is this?! will someone please reboot this fucking universe! I am disgusted to be alive right now.

[–] SlopppyEngineer@lemmy.world 29 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

The world is rebooting at the moment. The old systems are breaking down, the new system is still being written and in the meantime all kinds of rogue elements run havoc.

[–] serenissi@lemmy.world 2 points 40 minutes ago

Remember kids, that's why boot security is important.

[–] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 2 points 57 minutes ago

Well said

I’m always so optimistic—[…]

(that’s where I’ll terminate that thought for now, too early for it)

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 17 points 5 hours ago

You want a reboot? Well, incedentally a lot of this shit is in America, a country that reportedly has more guns than people. Time to start using them.

[–] nick@midwest.social 234 points 7 hours ago (4 children)

They’ll be appointed to government positions soon.

[–] slaacaa@lemmy.world 47 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

They will be leading the new government department called RAPE (Republican Advocacy for Patriarchy Enforcement)

[–] GraniteM@lemmy.world 12 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Named official envoy to... Romania, so that he can go back and pick right up where he left off, except now he'll have diplomatic immunity.

[–] nick@midwest.social 5 points 2 hours ago

Remember when pedos got beat down instead of protected?

[–] ms_lane@lemmy.world 58 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

I remember when I thought Tony Abbott appointing himself 'Minister for Women' back in 2013 was the height of absurdity.

Now the Tate brothers will likely have some position in the US government.

We live in 'interesting' times.

[–] SlopppyEngineer@lemmy.world 28 points 6 hours ago

We live in ‘interesting’ times.

The old world is dying, and the new world struggles to be born: now is the time of monsters.

[–] Embargo@lemm.ee 9 points 6 hours ago

He was also the minister of indigenous affairs. Pretty wild for a horrible racist.

[–] intelisense@lemm.ee 143 points 7 hours ago (3 children)

I'm absolutely disgusted by this. These guys were trafficking and raping young women (kids?) and Trump thinks this is not only OK but to be encouraged? And Romania... WTF?

[–] earphone843@sh.itjust.works 10 points 3 hours ago

Lol, Trump rapes kids

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 107 points 7 hours ago (5 children)

Trump is looking for his new Epstein. Remember, he partied with both Epstein and Maxwell, flying over half a dozen times on Epstein's private plane, "The Lolita Express."

Like with anything the GOP accuses Dems of, the sex trafficking ring was projection.

[–] EldritchFeminity@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Don't forget that Trump and Epstein used to fly on Trump's private jet as well, along with the young contestants of Trump Beauty Pagents, who Trump says he liked to "surprise" by opening the door of the changing rooms at the pagents.

[–] ploot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 40 minutes ago* (last edited 40 minutes ago)

Yes, those girls were about 15 and Trump used to try to catch them naked in the dressing rooms. And he bragged about it.

[–] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 19 points 6 hours ago

I'd be cool with him getting the Epstein treatment.

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 26 points 6 hours ago

Which pizza parlor do you suppose they do their satanic rituals in?

"Travel" 😉 I'm sure they'll be back for the trial

I don't understand this.

Venezuelans escaping from a communist dictator: ❌ Fuck them, send back to their country where they will be tortured and imprisoned

Same for Haitians

A serial rapist that boasts and is proud to be a serial rapist: ✔️ Yes please, we like people like this

[–] Nay@feddit.nl 3 points 2 hours ago

One has money.

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 33 points 6 hours ago

I don’t understand this.

Republicans and Trump are evil pieces of shit, which means they will do the absolute worst thing possible every time.

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 4 points 4 hours ago

I'm not one to defend communists, but Maduro is a socialist dictator.

Gross as fuck. Seem like Trump’s type of dudes - deviants and grifters.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 17 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Republicans are all about hating and abusing women these days. That and greed. The Tates will be hailed as heroes for their raping and trafficking, and for profiting off it.

[–] absquatulate@lemmy.world 33 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (1 children)

Can't say I'm surprised. There were credible rumous that the US pressured our gvt to release them. Word on the street is that they "traded" handing these two over in exchange for the US shutting up about the arrest of the russian puppet candidate. These both happened in the same day, so there may some truth to that. Honestly this wouldn't feel like that bad of a deal - one manchurian candidate for two instagram pimps. It's immoral, cowardly and corrupt, but these are the times we're living in.

Just remember this every time a US official blabbers stuff about other countries' election interference.

Romania denies any corruption, but assures the Tates pinky swear that they will come back to spend 15-20 years in jail, no problem. Our Romanian police correspondent could not provide more details as he said he had to go to the bank before closing time to make a deposit.
