Meanwhile in Trudeau's socialist nightmare, where eggs are under ~~kolkhoz~~ supply management, I pay $5.25 USD... for 18 eggs.
I normally get extra large eggs, but I just got some extra extra large eggs for 5.25$ Canadian. A dozen.
Time to start putting up those trump 'i did this' stickers in supermarkets untill they ban me again.
Why does it feel like I'm reading articles about egg prices virtually every day. I don't get why anyone cares this much.
I guess it was because the price of eggs was practically a campaigning slogan shared a lot around trump supporters.

The less eggs you can afford to buy increases the supply for the people who do not need to worry about the price of eggs.

Look at how insanely difficult, if not impossible, our job is at educating these morons on how they're being taken for a ride by conmen. The longer it goes on the more they'd have to admit they're wrong about, which makes it even less likely they'll realize it.

Tofu scramble is pretty good. Firm or extra firm tofu block, slice and crumble into a bowl. 1 tbsp turmeric, 1 tbsp black pepper, 1 tbsp garlic powder, mix. Cook in a pan on medium stirring occasionally, will turn yellow as it heats up. Then add key ingredient black salt (kala namak, a salt with a strong sulfur flavor) to taste. Mix in with your pan fry mix of choice, I like onion/garlic/serrano/mushroom/smoked paprika/chili powder/spinach/tomato and green pepper/cilantro added at the end. Serve with fruit and toast.
Deep fried tofu with peanut sauce is like crack.

We got chickens when facing an egg crisis here in NZ. Lovely little animals. It's been nice being able to look after and care for these creatures, knowing they are living the good life whilst consuming their eggs. Much more useful than my dumb dog.

Yes, but isn’t the upkeep of chickens pricey? People I know that raise them say it is. I don’t have chickens, so I’m not sure. Maybe it’s different in America?
Bag of food that lasts a week is 12 bucks for me, I have ~14 layers at 4-6 eggs a week for each bird. Water is the other ongoing expense but it barely registers on my bill compared to human use

I switched everyone to oatmeal breakfasts and leftovers in flour tortilla. Haven't had complaints. I also have done mild( half a jalapeno for flavor) chilaquiles in a torta, or sub sandwich bread, for a savory breakfast.
I use avocado for creamyness and use whatever protein leftovers I have.
If eggs were 6/dozen, and prices rose to 10/dozen... that's already a 40% increase.

So these monsters are screwing us on the price of eggs and the math on the price of eggs!
Uh...I don't think that's right. 40% of 6 is 2.4, so it'd be $8.40/dozen
Granted, I agree that $10 a dozen seems very possible at this point
