FYI, some of those cabinet members have expressly ordered their agencies to disregard some of m*sks crap. They aren't even all on the same page.

[–] NostraDavid@programming.dev 11 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

I don't believe you - I believe he's looking at his phone. Show me the video.

[–] telllos@lemmy.world 1 points 14 minutes ago (1 children)

Yeah we all hate Trump, but sometimes you look at the ground and focus on the conversation. Its pretty standard behaviour.

[–] TehWorld@lemmy.world 1 points 1 minute ago

Name someone more addicted to shitposting…

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 10 points 5 hours ago

Let's hope the coke and the ketamine are doing their jobs in Muskrat's body and brain.

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 59 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

The optics of Musk addressing the room while Trump is disengaged are bad enough without simply making up things that are not there.

"Why is Elon Musk acting as the leader while Trump is disengaged" is a hard question for a reasonable person to deal with.

Saying "lol look at Trump sleeping" when that's obviously not what is happening, makes you come off as unserious and casts doubt on anything you say in the future.

Spreading misleading lies is not the way to engage with the world. (To those of you that are people and not disinformation bots/agents)

[–] crmsnbleyd@sopuli.xyz 21 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

How is it obvious that he isn't sleeping? He looks like he's sleeping. Without the caption I would assume he's sleeping as well.

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 29 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (3 children)

His hands are very close together, he's looking between his hands and we know Trump is a social media junkie.

Without the caption you would assume he's sleeping because someone probably flipped through hundreds of frames of video to find the shot that looked the worst so they could post about it.

Trump, if you're to believe the rumors, uses stimulants and drinks a lot of caffeinated soda. He's not falling asleep in the middle of the day.

It's worse, he's letting an unelected man, the richest man in the world, who paid for his campaign, act as the leader while he reads Twitter.

Him merely being asleep would be preferable over Musk being in the room. Incompetent and lazy leadership by Trump would be vastly better than his simply handing the reigns of power to an unelected non-American.

That's the messaging that needs to be happening. All this is going to do is make the blue team laugh and the red team think the blue team is ignorant.

Meanwhile, Elon is taking a chainsaw to our entire government while we're too busy trying to score points on the other team (who are the people we need to be allying with to protect the US).

His hands are very close together, he’s looking between his hands and we know Trump is a social media junkie.

We know it has tiny hands, so at that distance, it can't possibly operate a phone with both tiny hands. ^^

[–] 5too@lemmy.world 1 points 54 seconds ago

You sound like you're joking, but I'm honestly still trying to decide if there's a phone the width of where his hands are...

[–] crmsnbleyd@sopuli.xyz 5 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

I'm not suggesting people lie, but your messaging doesn't have to be completely true to work. That's how the red team got elected in the first place

[–] the_crotch@sh.itjust.works 1 points 21 minutes ago (1 children)

"Beat them by becoming them" is your strategy?

[–] crmsnbleyd@sopuli.xyz 1 points 9 minutes ago

I clearly stated in the first half of my response that I wasn't suggesting anyone do this, but the parent comment said saying something that's not the truth will only achieve republicans thinking their opponents are ignorant and nothing else.

This is demonstrably false. Anything pushed hard enough becomes the status quo. This is important to know even if all you want to do is fight back against it.

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 7 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

I'm not saying that lying and manipulation don't work. I'm saying that we shouldn't be on the team of the liars and manipulators.

[–] MutilationWave@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 hours ago

You are both right and I've really learned something from your comments, thanks.

his eyes are closed too, conservatives try to say hes posting on truth social.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 4 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

If optics still mattered, I don't think Trump would have won any election, let alone 2.

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 8 points 7 hours ago

That's no reason to abandon truth and give in to rampant misinformation.

[–] peereboominc@lemm.ee 6 points 5 hours ago (5 children)

What is up with the hand of the person on the bottom left corner?

[–] dQw4w9WgXcQ@lemm.ee 1 points 18 minutes ago
[–] whome@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 4 hours ago

Someone trying to flip the table but ultimately failing.

[–] SmoothOperator@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

Looks like a right hand gripping the table

[–] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

It’s The Penguin

[–] dave@feddit.uk 1 points 5 hours ago

Looks like the start of a round of Mr Thumb

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Trump looks like he's powered down

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

How do we make that permanent?

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Gun practice, or find somebody with the flu to cough on him

[–] TheDudeV2@lemmy.ca 61 points 11 hours ago (3 children)

What gets me about this photo is how fundamentally unserious the whole scene appears. The body language of nearly everyone, the lack of focus, the shabbiness of it all… just embarrassing. I’ve seen high school clubs looking more competent and serious.

I know this is just an aesthetics thing, but it gets to me. 🤷

[–] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 25 points 9 hours ago

The body language just says "we're all here to blow Elon", except for Trump who is allowed to nap after a hard day of golfing.

[–] JacksonLamb@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago

Musk looks like the sandwich trolley guy telling people about the specials.

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 14 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

What you're picking up on is body language and that's not strictly aesthetics. It's sometimes even more important than verbal language.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 4 points 7 hours ago

Body language predates verbal language by literal tens of millions of years so year checks out.

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 36 points 11 hours ago

Jesus Christ, every single thing to come out of his campaign and mouth was projection. 'Sleepy Joe' my ass. More like drowsy Donny, who's uppers are always wearing off

[–] ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works 9 points 8 hours ago

This picture makes me think of the boardroom scene in the movie Dogma.

[–] Feelfold@lemm.ee 2 points 6 hours ago

50 l 50 he's looking at memory of "that one time with Epstein and those girls", or in a Big Mac coma.

[–] houstoneulers@lemmy.world 6 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

To me this picture says one thing: these reps and the sycophants that surround them were never representing the ppl. They just represent what keeps them, personally, in power.

[–] Coldcell@sh.itjust.works 8 points 7 hours ago

🌍👨‍🚀🔫👨‍🚀

[–] Hazor@lemmy.world 22 points 11 hours ago (3 children)

I mean, he's obviously just staring at his phone, but if this had been Biden then they'd have been calling him Sleepy Joe in all the headlines. :|

While I have saved this for later distribution, it looks more like he's checking his phone. Either way, he's not paying attention.
