After having worked in corporate as a dev before this pisses me off cause it's probably the brainchild of some tech illiterate manager or the app has some sensitive information in showing up in adb

Security Theater all the way. It's not the only thing that is messed up with BPI.

Back then, they didn't allow you to paste passwords. Like, why?

Kahit pala BPI ganun din. Akala ko sa BDO lang. 24 mixed characters pa naman sa akin dati before I discovered passphrases. Big pain typing all of those.

"Don't f*ck with paste" extension on Chromium Browsers.

Also, you should try to complain to BDO. I have a feeling there's a person there who knows it's stupid - they just need a customer to voice it out to the decision maker.

They're still not allow you to paste, or right-click on their login form.

They don't allow you to right click but they do allow paste. I just tested it.

Their devs thought turning on Android dev options makes you a criminal.

The old one still functional. And the new one it has zygote process id like zygisk but a financial app.

At least Metrobank's will warn you about it, yet still inaccessible. But still, apps shouldn't be blocking access when developer mode is activated. Mobile OS are already mature in terms of security.
